Radio Flyer Reflects on an Amazing 2017

It’s been a big year, and we can’t help but reflect on many of the fun and exciting things we did in 2017. Join us for a walk down memory lane.

  • For starters, we don’t want to brag, but… we won an Emmy! Our short film, Taking Flight, took the prize for Outstanding Special Class Animated Program. We partnered with Moonbot Studios to bring the inspiration of Antonio Pasin to life. Through the power of imagination and epic adventure, a boy learns to be a kid, a father learns to be a dad, and a grandfather reminds us all what childhood is about. You can watch the full film here
  • Sparking imagination, igniting adventures, and inspiring a sense of wonder — they’re all benchmarks of our company. It’s why we hosted our first-ever Kid’s Travel Agency, which offered kids of all ages the chance to plan a fantastical “trip” of a lifetime. Travelers chose an imaginary destination and Radio Flyer took them there. Some kids visited Mount Puppy using their spaceship (Classic Red Wagon), while others zoomed to Dragon’s Butt Kingdom by way of their motorcycle (Deluxe Big Flyer).
  • Remember the time we brought the World’s Largest Wagon to Michigan Avenue in downtown Chicago? At the single-day event, Smile, Chicago!, we handed out bubbles, miniature wagons, donuts and more! With special remarks given by Mayor Rahm Emanuel and Chief Wagon Officer Robert Pasin, this birthday party was nothing short of magical.
  • It’s true — we’ve been around the proverbial block. However, we never stop innovating. In fact, the launch of Luke Skywalker’s Landspeeder™ at Comic-Con International in San Diego was one of the most exciting product launches we’ve done in our 100 years! Capitalizing on the excitement, we encouraged  both kids and adults get their pictures taken with the vehicles, complete with a Tatooine backdrop.
  • Oh, and last but not least, we turned 100 years old! There are only a handful of companies that  withstand the test of time and see its centennial birthday. What does it take to last for the long haul? We think it has something to do with the great people we’re surrounded by.  This feeds into a unique  culture, one that drives our team to continue being awesome! Everyone here is passionate about the products we make and Radio Flyer’s vision, mission, and values.  With that said, here’s to 100 more years of Radio Flyer and a happy 2018 for you and yours!
